The Great Swamp is located in Morris County, New Jersey. The Great Swamp stretches 8,000 acres long and is home to 39 species of mammals, 42 species of reptiles, and the home of 244 species of birds.
ClimateThe Climate undergoes seasonal changes as the year progresses. Some animals leave the wetlands like birds for the winter and come back in the spring. While other species prepare for the winter and hibernate. The wetlands are more diverse because of the season changes.

Interesting featuresThe Wildlife Refuge has over 150,000 hours worth of volunteering from 1982-2012. It equals to 75 full time employees per year.
